Kim Duitsman is the classic example of a lifelong learner. For the past 30 years, she has gained new skills at every bank she has served — from her hometown bank in Lakefield to positions at First Bank Systems, Riverside Bank and EastBank. She started as a teller and has since worked in bookkeeping, credit review, business banking, personal banking, retail lending, audit and compliance. Overseeing operations at Platinum, Kim can now add human resources and technology skills to her broad experience.

Hired nine months before Platinum opened, Kim organized the bank's internal policies and procedures and helped in the implementation of the systems and products. She is happy to say that her efforts were a success. "That's one of the things I'm proud of. It's fun to see everything working as planned and having input on what's happening day to day."

The banking industry offers a constant operational challenge of keeping up with changing regulatory and business requirements. Kim has also learned a lot in the technology area to maintain the bank's systems and ensuring security compliance and proper procedures. Although she mostly interacts with staff, she enjoys occasional client interaction to ensure that their accounts are handled properly.

Admittedly, Kim stays very busy with all of the hats she wears at Platinum. Still, she wouldn't have it another way. That's why she defines her role at Platinum as multi-tasker.
